Public Transport in Exmoor National Park

There are many opportunities to use public transport while exploring one of the country's most outstanding landscapes - the Exmoor National Park.

Use our Interactive Transport map to view all public transport services within the area, or download the Exmoor Transport Guide for full details of bus services.

There are so many reasons to give your car a break when exploring the Exmoor National Park which will help you have the best possible stay. Here are just a few...

  • You can save money on car parking charges and fuel;
  • Escape the stress of finding a parking space;
  • See more of the stunning landscape with 360 degree views over the hedgerows;
  • Why not enjoy a drink with your lunchtime meal?
  • Experience the freedom of not having to start and finish a walk at the same point;
  • Travel together as a group or family without someone having to concentrate on driving;
  • Help combat climate change as we seek to achieve carbon neutrality on Exmoor by 2025;
  • Explore further and see some of the hidden corners of Exmoor.

An open top bus service runs along the coast, dubbed the 'prettiest bus service in the country' affording sweeping coastal and moorland vistas while negotiating some of the steepest hills in the country.

Inland the Exmoor Explorer takes you to some of the moors most beautiful areas on a vintage open top bus. Other services give easy and efficient access between the towns and villages of Exmoor whilst the MoorRover operates during the summer months to provide access to those areas of the National Park not otherwise covered by public transport.
