Dig Dulverton
Dig Dulverton is a community project, which will investigate the origins of Dulverton by archaeological excavation, historic buildings analysis, settlement topography and dendrochronological sampling.
If you would like to get involved, there are a number of events throughout 2011, starting with a roadshow on 23rd February, where we are inviting people to bring their stories and any old photographs along to Dulverton Town Hall. There will be an exhibition of air photographs and historic maps, and staff from the Portable Antiquities Scheme will also be on hand in the afternoon to identify any objects that have been dug up in local gardens.
We are especially looking for volunteers to do a small excavation in their own gardens on 13th and 14th May, with help from local archaeologists.
Enquiries should be made to Sue Parkman, Exmoor National Park Authority, 01398 322211.
