The Sustainable Development Fund was a grant fund of £180,000 a year to encourage new ways of living and working on Exmoor in a sustainable way.

The fund was provided by Defra and was open to community groups, businesses and individuals to support innovative projects that demonstrate environmental, community and economic benefits whilst contributing to at least one of the National Park purposes:

  • To conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Park; and
  • To promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the Park’s special qualities by the public.
