‘Your Future Exmoor’ consultation underway

Consultation events for Exmoor’s communities are underway to help decide important issues such as new housing, employment and measures to address climate change over the next 15-20 years. Other issues such as conservation, building design and community facilities will also be included. Exmoor National Park Authority is inviting more local communities to give their views at the next informal, drop-in events which are tailored to individual parishes.

The events in Wheddon Cross, Dulverton Parracombe and Lynton/Lynmouth already held have been well attended.

The next events will be at Porlock Village Hall on Monday 8 February from 2pm to 7pm, then at Bridgetown Village Hall on Thursday 11 February from 12 to 4pm and Winsford Village Hall on the same day from 2.30 to 6.30pm. The Bridgetown and Winsford events are identical, joint events tailored to both communities enabling people to attend either at a time convenient to them.

Ruth McArthur, Policy and Community Manager at Exmoor National Park Authority says: “We are very grateful to all those people that have attended the first few events and the time and effort they have taken to give us their views on how they would like their community to evolve in the future. We look forward to welcoming many more people when they drop into their local event.”

Views from the consultation events will be available in feedback reports which will be sent to parish and town councils, made available in local shops and services and will also be published on the National Park Authority website.

Anyone who cannot come to a consultation event can still make their views known by completing the questionnaire in the November edition of Park Life – this can also be found at: www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk/park-life.htm by email ldf@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk or by post to: Policy and Community Team, Exmoor National Park Authority, Exmoor House, Dulverton, TA22 9HL.
