‘Your Future Exmoor’ consultation

Events coming up

The series of ‘Your Future Exmoor’ consultation events for Exmoor’s communities have been well attended with many people keen to give their views. The events are designed to help decide important issues such as new housing, employment and measures to address climate change over the next 15-20 years. Other issues such as conservation, building design and community facilities are also included. Exmoor National Park Authority is inviting more local communities to give their views at the next informal, drop-in events which are tailored to individual parishes.

The next events will be held at Wootton Courtenay village hall on Monday 22 February from 3pm to 7pm and at Timberscombe village hall on Thursday 25 February from 12 – 4pm and at Dunster Tithe Barn on the same day from 3pm to 7pm. The Timberscombe and Dunster events are identical, joint events tailored to both communities enabling people to attend either at a time convenient to them.

The consultation event for the communities of Brendon, Countisbury and Oare will be held at Brendon village hall on Monday 1 March from 3pm to 7pm.

Ruth McArthur, Policy and Community Manager at Exmoor National Park Authority says: “We have been very pleased with the number of people, adults and children, that have taken the time and effort to give us their views on how they would like their community to evolve in the future. We look forward to welcoming many more when they drop into their local event.”

Views from the consultation events will be available in feedback reports which will be sent to parish and town councils, made available in local shops and services and will also be published on the National Park Authority website.

Anyone who cannot come to a consultation event can still make their views known by completing the questionnaire in the November edition of Park Life – this can also be found at: www.exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk/park-life.htm by email ldf@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk or by post to: Policy and Community Team, Exmoor National Park Authority, Exmoor House, Dulverton, TA22 9HL.
