New bridge at Wimbleball Lake
Walkers enjoying a stroll around Wimbleball Lake will be able to keep their feet a bit drier thanks to a new footbridge at the south eastern edge of the lake near Upton.
The footbridge was erected by the National Park Authority’s field services team over a stream on a section of permitted path which links the path and enables people to walk all the way around the lake. The timber used was produced as a result of management of the Authority’s own woodlands and milled at the team’s depot.
Dan Barnett, Access and Recreation manager with Exmoor National Park Authority said: We felt that it was important tohelp the South West Lakes Trust by providing this easy to use bridge to link the path around the lake, a walk that so many people enjoy. This permitted path will provide better access for the thousands of visitors who enjoy Wimbleball Reservoir and the surrounding countryside.”
