Exmoor Archaeology Forum 2010
The Exmoor Archaeology Forum, which looks at the archaeology and history of Exmoor, is celebrating its tenth anniversary. This year the event is being run to coincide with the Festival of British Archaeology and will be on Iron Age and Roman Exmoor.
The 10th Exmoor Archaeology Forum will be held at the Moorland Hall, Wheddon Cross on Saturday 17July 2010 - pre-booking is required. The fee for the event is £15 per person which includes tea/coffee and a buffet lunch.
This popular event will consist of a series of illustrated lectures by experts and will also look at the regional context of Exmoor at this time as well as examining the evidence for Iron Age settlement on and around Exmoor.
Rob Wilson-North, Head of Historic Environment at Exmoor National Park Authority said: This is a fascinating period in Exmoor’s history and in addition to looking at the impact of the Roman invasion of this area, we will see the evidence for Roman-British settlement, farming and industry.
The day will also cover the results of recent fieldwork and excavation projects and as there are a limited number of places I would advise anyone interested to book as soon as possible.”
Please note that admission to the Forum is by pre-booking only. For further information and booking forms please contact Sue Parkman on 01398 322211 or download one here (PDF, 207KB)
