Exmoor Local Access Forum is an independent advisory body made up of volunteers who give their time and experience freely. The Forum advises a range of bodies including the National Park Authority on ways to improve access and open-air recreation on Exmoor, for the benefit of all.
Meetings are open to the public. The Forum actively reaches out to Exmoor's local communities to identify and understand their access requirements and holds its meetings at different locations within the National Park in order to enable wider debate and discussion on a variety of access issues. Please contact Exmoor National Park Authority on 01398 323665 or access@exmoor-nationalpark.gov.uk for details of the next meeting.
We are always keen to hear from those interested in joining the Forum. More information can be found here.
Quote from the Chairman: "We are always looking for individuals who have the passion, skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to help people make the most of the many opportunities for enjoying Exmoor. If you are interested in getting involved then please get in touch. It would be of benefit to the Forum if its membership was representative of the community, so we are particularly looking for young people, people with disabilities and people from ethnic minority backgrounds that have traditionally been under-represented. Anyone interested in cycling, conservation, outdoor education, sports and activities, rural businesses or tourism would also be welcome."
Local Access Forums were established under s94 of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000
